Pulau Tioman or Tioman Island is located along the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia under the Pahang state’s administration. It is located within the Mersing Marine Park where one can get here through Mersing. Tioman is famed to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world where it was once in World’s Top 10 Most Beautiful Islands as well as being used for the shooting of the ‘Bali Hai’ movie in 1958.
The island is a popular destination among scuba divers as it is surrounded by some of the most beautiful white coral reefs off its waters. Visiting Tioman Island would be a very rewarding experience where one is able to enjoy the beaches as well as the seas while there are also other attractions where it is the natural home of the Monitor Lizards. Getting to Tioman is very easy and if one comes from Mersing, ferry services are provided daily. Apart from that, there is also the Tioman Airport which caters to those who are flying in from Kuala Lumpur as well as Singapore. There is an RM5 marine park fee for all visitors to Tioman and it is very common for visitors to rent a motorcycle or a vehicle when in the island. Generally, the island offers many natural attractions to choose from although a majority of visitors often come here for diving.
