The state of Selangor is known to be the richest state in Malaysia due to its commercial and rapid development. Located along the western coast of the Peninsular Malaysia, it is well protected with Perak to the north, Pahang to the east and Negri Sembilan to the south. Selangor is well developed as it is home to some of the most technological advanced and well planned cities like Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya, the most commercial city here.
It totally engulfs the Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur, which are the administrative centre and capital of the country respectively. Apart from that, Selangor is also home to the KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) which is the national airport, welcoming visitors from all over the world each day. Shah Alam is the state capital here while its royal seat is in Klang.
In terms of development, Selangor enjoys some of the most state-of-the-art structures and cities like Cyberjaya, an information technology city as well as in the likes of Subang Jaya and Sepang where the Sepang International Circuit that hosts the Malaysian edition of the Formula 1 Grand Prix is held. The major cities and towns here are very well connected within the major highways as well as through the LRT (Light Rail Transit) system that expands from the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
