Sarawak, together with Sabah makes up the 2 states that form East Malaysia. It is the largest state in Malaysia although much of the land here are made up of uncharted forests and rural communities. Sarawak is one of the few states which are known for its eco-tourism, attraction travellers who come here to enjoy the natural and rich flora and fauna. Apart from that, it is also very rich in culture and tradition where there are more than 30 indigenous communities here that include the Iban, Dayak, Kenyah and others.
Sarawakâs capital is in Kuching which is the main transportation centre here. It is served by the Kuching International Airport which then connects to other domestic and rural destinations around the state. The state is one of the few in Malaysia which have more than 1 city where other significant towns here include Sibu and Miri. The state is home to one of the largest and oldest caves in the world which can be found at Mulu and Niah caves respectively. As the state is very tourist-centric, there are many international hotels and resorts located in the major cities while one can also enjoy the homestay options here that include the longhouses and villages of the rural communities.
