Perak

The state of Perak is one of the smaller states in Malaysia. It is located along the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia lined up among Selangor in the south and Penang towards the north. Perak is considered to be one of the most ‘quiet’ states in Malaysia where it is home to some of the most historical towns. It is also known for its food where it is said that the bean sprouts chicken rice here is one of the best not only in Malaysia but in the world. Most of the major cities and towns in Perak house major hotels and accommodation choices while one can also engage the cheaper alternatives like budget hotels and homestays which are also found around there.

The state capital of Perak is in Ipoh where it is the main commercial centre of the state. Here is where one is able to enjoy some of the best food of the state while walk through the historical trails of the pre-war buildings and structures. The town of Taiping here is known to be one of the oldest towns in Malaysia where it is home to the oldest railway, prison and many others. Apart from that, one can also enjoy the islands and the seaside by heading towards Pulau Pangkor through the coastal town of Lumut.
