Georgetown

The city of Georgetown is the capital of Penang. It is located at the island section of Penang that also includes Butterworth which is located in the mainland of Peninsular Malaysia. Georgetown is one of the most historical cities in Malaysia where it is listed as one of the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. As Penang is known for its tourist’s attractions and food, one would find that Georgetown hosts a wide variety of choices when it comes to food where one can visit the likes of Gurney Drive which houses all the different types of well known Penang food like the Penang Har Mee, Char Koay Teow and many more.

Apart from the city centre, Georgetown is also known for its beach side resorts like those in Batu Ferringghi while one can also visit other places like the Kek Lok Si Temple, the Khoo Tangsi and other popular sites.
